‘Tis the season….for another home tour!
While we actually had a little snow last week and freezing temperatures for most of the week here, I’m wishing with all my might that Spring will bring it’s happy little ass here soon. Alas, living in the Tennessee Valley, you never really know what kind of weather you will end up with during this time of the year. Either way, there are quite a few of us bloggers who are opening up our doors for the Spring Home Tour this week.
You might have just hopped over here from Kristin over at Bliss at Home. I absolutely adore Kristin’s style and can’t wait to see what all she does with this new home they’ve just moved into.
If you’re new to my blog, then here’s a little background information about our home and style. We bought our current home, The 70’s Landing Pad, in November of 2015 and did renovations before moving into it in May 2016. It’s a 1970’s split-level home. We still have a few areas to finish up – it’s always a work in progress around here, including myself. I like to refer to my style as The Rolling Stones meet Conway Twitty. I’m a little country and a little rock n’ roll with a dose of glam.

Entry
Chandelier / Eyes Art / Painting the Metal Handrail
I was never a fan of split-level houses, however this house just happened to have everything that we needed and more. I absolutely despised the split-foyer entry. I did my best to take the focus off the awkward entry and instead turn the attention to the pretty details like the art, rug, and chandelier.
We replaced the handrail going downstairs with this DIY Lucite one. I want to replace the metal railing with something else at some point, but for now I just painted it.

Living Room
Navy Velvet Pillows with Colorful Trim / Palm Print Pillow / Leopard Print Pillow / Floor Lamp / Coffee Table (similar) / Red Velvet Drapes / Sofa (similar)
Lion Print / Red Velvet Drapes
The living room is almost 100% complete. I have one wall left to figure out and then, it will be done, so be sure to come back and see the completely finished product.
Navy Velvet Pillows with Colorful Trim / Palm Print Pillow / Leopard Print Pillow / Floor Lamp / Coffee Table (similar) / Red Velvet Drapes / Sofa (similar)
A lot of this room is secondhand finds. The sofa, lamp, chandelier and coffee table are all vintage or secondhand finds. I did spray paint the coffee table gold when I got it.

Navy Velvet Pillows with Colorful Trim / Leopard Print Pillow
The pillows were one of the final puzzle pieces for finishing this space. They added the perfect punch of color and pattern to the room. The navy velvet pillows are from a friend of mine’s shop that just opened up – Boho Luxe Home. They specialize in vibrant colors and patterns.
Green Chairs / Vintage Gypsum Pillow / Mustard Velvet Pillow with Tassels / Lion Print / Red Velvet Drapes
The green chairs are another part of the living room that is new. I searched for chairs for this space forever and finally happened upon these. At around $200 per chair, it was a no brainer.
Green Chairs / Vintage Gypsum Pillow / Mustard Velvet Pillow with Tassels / Gold Table (similar) / DIY Crystal Vase
These chairs also got an extra dose of color with more Boho Luxe Home pillows. I love the little tassels that come with the pillows. They just clip on, so if you don’t like them, you can take them off.
Dining Room
Bar Cart / Elvis Bust (similar ones) / Record Player / Green Malachite Side Table / Art Print / DIY Lamp Tassels
While this little part of the dining room is completed, the rest is not.
Elvis Bust (similar ones) / DIY Lamp Tassels
Rug / Cantilever Dining Chairs (similar) / Glass Table / Red Velvet Drapes
The chairs still need to be recovered as if you looked close, you’d see a few tears and paint splatters.
Art Print / Rug / Cantilever Dining Chairs (similar) / Glass Table / Red Velvet Drapes
I also have to find something for the wall opposite that gorgeous print to balance out the space. The problem is how do you compete with that?!
Kitchen
Black Subway Tile / Brass Faucet / Cabinet Knobs / Brass Ice Bucket (similar)
The kitchen just got finished at the end of January.
It’s style is still similar to that of the living room and dining room, but more casual.
Lemon Hand Towel / Brass Fruit Bowl (similar) / Acrylic Wine Rack
Pendant Light / Palm Print Pillow / Tiger Stripe Pillow / Malachite Pillow / DIY Kitchen Banquette
And we also prefer to have breakfast with Conway, Loretta, Johnny and June. 😉

Hall Bathroom
This hall bathroom got new tile, paint and countertops before moving in.
I did recently switch out the artwork though. Before, we had cute piece of quote art from Alice in Wonderland, but the Circus needed more color in her bathroom, so she picked out a piece of Flamingo art from Lena Navarro Art.
Flamingo Print / Brass Rocking Horse (similar ones)
The print is called “Pink Summer” and everytime I look at it, I’m reminded of the summer after the Circus just turned two and she carried around one of our plastic pink flamingos all summer long holding and loving on it. Art that comes with memories is the best. 🙂 It’s a beautiful piece and came matted, ready to frame.

Circus’ Bedroom
Horse Sheets (similar) / Tassel Pillow (similar) / Rug / Text & Object Feature Wall / Cowgirl Lampshade
The Circus’ room is finally done! I haven’t gotten around to writing a post detailing everything, but that will come soon!
Custom Silhouette Art / Tassel Pillow (similar) / Horse Sheets (similar)
DIY Sunglasses Holder / DIY Headband Holder
Her room is very colorful – just like her. 🙂
Yellow Bookshelf / Fuchsia Curtains / Cowhide Bench (similar) / Tassel Pillow (similar) / All Love Pillow
The final additions to this room were the fuchsia curtains, bench and pillows.
Fuchsia Curtains / Cowhide Bench (similar) / Tassel Pillow (similar) / All Love Pillow
The All Love pillow is another one from the Boho Luxe Home Collection. If there is one thing I try to teach my kid, it’s to love often and love hard.
Master Bedroom Sitting Area
Wallpaper / Rug / Chairs & Ottomans / Mirror / Lamp / Table / Pillows
Our sitting area just got completed in January as well. Prior to that, it was essentially storage space.
Cabinet Pulls / Cabinet Knobs / TV Cabinet / Beverage Cooler / Tray / Horn
We really enjoy having a space to unwind at the end of the day now.

Master Bedroom
Mirror (I painted mine.) / Pink Lamp (similar) / Banana Leaves Art / DIY Black and White Feature Wall
Funny enough, our master bedroom was completed before we even moved into the house.
Green Curtains / Palm Print Art / Bedding / Palm Print Pillow / Leopard Print Pillow
Chandelier / Green Curtains / Palm Print Art / Bedding / Palm Print Pillow / Leopard Print Pillow
It has a vintage Hollywood Glam vibe going on.
Accent Chair / Leopard Print Pillow / DIY Carpet Covered Wall
Closet Medallions / DIY Carpet Covered Wall
And yes, that is a green carpet covered wall. 😉

Master Bathroom
Faucet / Sconce / Wood Soap Dispenser
The master bathroom is a good mix of masculine and feminine.
Bathtub / Art Print / Brass Faucet
Champagne Bronze Shower Faucet
The whole bathroom was a complete gut job.
Toilet / Toilet Tank Lever / Brass Toilet Paper Tower Storage / DIY Built-In Bathroom Shelving Tutorial

Jenna Your house is absolutely gorgeous. There is just too much to mention, but girl you have done one hell of a job. When I picture the way it looked when you bought it I cannot believe it is the same home.
Jenna says
Thank you, Patty! I look back at before pictures and too am like, oh my word, we’ve come so far!! What’s really funny is that we have finally started working on the exterior of the house, which is sooooo ugly and when window and roof contractors have came inside, they are all like, “Well, I was not expecting the interior to look like this.” haha!

I’m catching up on the spring design tour and just visited your blog for the first time. Though our designs styles are wildly different, I thoroughly enjoyed your site. It’s so refreshing to see a personality communicated through design. I love your eye art in the foyer and your daughter’s rebus wall – OMG so fun! Thanks for making me smile this morning!!

Jenna says
Thanks so much, Vel! Do the lucite rails – you won’t be sorry!
Paige says
Jenna, you know how much I love your home already, but those curtains and pillows are killin’ it! Your dining room looks finished to me; so, I’ll be curious to see what else you do in there. Regarding balancing out the artwork, what about one large mirror or a grouping of mirrors?
Jenna says
Thank you, Paige! Those pillows and curtains were just the icing on the cake for me!! Love them too! I’ve thought about the mirror thing as well and that might win out. I do have one cool kind of retro DIY art type idea that I might give a whirl!
Nikki Gwin says

I do love it.

PS. My home is NOT a split level…. all the living area is on one level. However, the entry is much like yours, with the door a half a level down from the living area. I am writing a post about it right now. It is a challenge and I love your ideas.

Thanks so much, Nikki!
