just found your website. I want (well, my husband) will be painting one section of our honey oak cabinets, yellow. I want a soft buttery yellow. Can you suggest a color. We normally shop Sherwin Williams, Lowes or Home Depot.
Hey Nancy! Thanks for your sweet comment! I wish I could be more help, but I don’t have any ideas for a yellow color. The only yellow I have used before wasn’t that soft and buttery – it was more bright and had a slight orange tinge. It was Homestead Resort Tea Room Yellow by Valspar. If I were you, I would start by getting a few paint chips in yellows, bring them home and narrow it down to three, then get samples of those to try out. I hope that helped a little!
I enjoy your site so much! I came across a great sign that you made for your porch that says “Welcome to the South” and now I can’t find it again. Can you tell me where it is located?
I enjoyed you article. You give a lot of great tips. I am new at redoing furniture. I am using chalk paint and love using it. My only problem is even when I seal it, it is soft and will scratch easily. What can I use to seal it and have a good seal that will not be tacky or scratch.
I was looking for ideas on how to repurpose some old wicker furniture. I do not see picture of the grey basket you had on Pinterest…can you please provide 🙂

Hi Sondra! I would suggest trying Polycrylic to see if that will help with that issue.
