This crystal project might just be my favorite project to come out of the faux crystal tutorial I shared a couple of weeks ago.

A crystal lamp finial.

You guys know that I’m a big details person and one of my favorite places to add those little wonderful pops of detail is with lamp finials.

It’s just damn glorious.

And no, I’m not being too dramatic.

Here’s how to make these little beauties…

Tools & Supplies

  • Faux Crystals – use this tutorial to make the crystals. You’ll need the same amount of crystals as however many finials you are making.
  • Finial Base
  • E6000 Glue

Steps

Step 1

After you’ve made your crystals, let them fully dry overnight before making the finials.

When the crystals are ready, apply a dollop of E6000 glue to the finial base, then carefully push the crystal onto the glue.

Step 2

Leave the finial upright and let it fully dry overnight. You can nestle the finial in a small bowl of uncooked rice to stabilize it and keep it from falling over while it’s drying.

The next day you can screw it onto your lamp top.

I’m completely smitten.

You could also use these crystals to just embellish plain lamp bases or lampshades if your lamp doesn’t allow you to use a finial. Just use the glue to attach them to the lamps or shades as you wish!
