Looking for the gift that keeps on giving for someone on your holiday gift list? Look no further! This list of useful gifts that keep giving and monthly gift boxes are sure to be the perfect gift for a few folks on your list!
If you’re one for thinking out of the box when it comes to holiday gift giving, then this list is for you.
These are all gift ideas that keep on giving throughout the year.
Magazine subscriptions are usually the most thought of “gifts that keep giving” holiday gifts – and those are great options! What about a different gift that keeps on giving though?
I’ve got two different types of gifts that keep on giving here:
- Practical, useful gifts that the gift recipeient will find themselves using over and over again.
- Subscription Gift Boxes (some really unique ones!) that they’ll be surprised to get throughout the year!
Some brands provided products and/or compensation for inclusion in this gift guide. However, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. This post contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
A Gift that Keeps on Giving
Useful Gifts They’ll Soon Find They Can’t Live Without
Anti-Stress Microwaveable Neck Wrap
For the overworked friend on your list, give them this neck wrap. This wrap pulls double duty – you can microwave it for a warm wrap or stick it in the freezer to use as a cold wrap. It also boasts a soothing lavender and chamomile scent.
Peter Thomas Roth Mask-Erade Set
If you really want to spoil them, give them this mask set to go along with that neck wrap. I’m a skincare junkie and these are some of my most favorite tried and true face masks right here at a great value – only $19 for the set!
The Giving Plate
Being a person who loves gifting, I adore the idea behind this plate. It doesn’t actually belong to any one person. The idea is to gift it to someone, full of sweet goodies of course, then they’ll fill it back up and pass it along to someone else. Beautiful, right? It’s a great way to get kids in a “giving” state of mind as well!
Cast Iron Dutch Oven
Speaking of cooking up yummy dishes, one of my favorite kinds of gifts that keep giving is great cookware! You can never go wrong with a good dutch oven – I use mine all. the. time. These things are so versatile. Make it even more special by giving them a tried and true recipe to go along with the cookware!
Polaroid Box Set
This one is perfect for the younger folks on your holiday gift list! They will love going “old school” taking Polaroids! This set comes with everything they need to get started. You might just have to give them a training session. 😉
Seasonal Wreath Subscription
Give them the gift of a beautiful front door all year long with this seasonal wreath subscription. With the start of each new season, they’ll be greeted by a gorgeous new wreath to go along with it.
Rosetta Stone
One of the best gifts you can give someone is the gift of learning something new – so how about a language? At Rosetta Stone, you can purchase a subscription to gift someone. This is great for people who love to travel the world or just always wanted to learn a new language.
Budget Planner
The gift of personal finance planning! There’s no better time to get on track with your budget than right before a new year. This financial planner will help your recipient start and stay strong in their spending, savings and more throughout the upcoming new year.
Yeti Rambler
If they have yet to buy themselves a YETI, do it for them now. We even have lowball YETIs for our cocktails. These suckers keep cold drinks cold for hours and vice versa for hot drinks. They even have YETI coffee mugs now if that would better fit your gift recipient.
Wine Tote
Are they a wine lover? This wine tote is something they’ll be able to reuse over and over again. This tote is perfect for them to load up their favorite wines to take to BYOB restaurants, a picnic in the park or parties!
Magnifier Pendant Necklace
Not your regular necklace! Beauty and functionality merge perfectly together in this magnifying pendant necklace! Perfect for ladies who have trouble reading small print and could benefit from a handy little magnifying glass posing as a pretty necklace around their neck. The reviews on this necklace are fantastic as well.
Defrosting Mat
I am the queen of forgetting to defrost meat. And never once have I ever successfully been able to use my microwave to defrost either. To those of you who have actually figured out how to properly use those settings, my hat is off to you. For the rest of us, there’s this defrosting mat.
Heritage Pocket Knife
On top of the beautiful detailing this pocket knife sports, you can also have it engraved with the gift recipient’s initials. This knife from Things Remembered is both special and useful. It has great reviews as well! Any guy on your list who always carries a knife would love this.
Stainless Steel Bar Soap
I don’t mind cooking, but I detest the smell that garlic and onions leave behind on my hands. To get rid of those, I run the back of a stainless steel knife along my fingers under the water. Let me just tell you though that this stainless steel soap bar is much safer. This is such a useful item that anyone who cooks often would be appreciative of.
Amazon Firestick
If they have yet to jump on the Firestick train, then go ahead and pull them on board this holiday season. I’ll be the first to say that when Grunt bought us one, I was like, why do we need that? And then I discovered that with this one little thing, I could watch all the television series I’d never gotten to watch before (hello Ally McBeal!) and then re-watch all my favorites (The Sopranos!). And I can also feed my 1970s, 80s and 90s movie addictions.
Legacy Box
I am a huge fan of Legacybox. If you’ve been around here for more than a hot second, you know that I am big on preserving those special family memories whether it’s a piece of furniture, a photo or hell, even a bottle of cologne. Legacybox is a service that digitizes all your old family photos, home videos and more. Talk about giving someone a walk down memory lane for the holidays, right?
Never ever discount just how much someone will appreciate a great pair of pajamas. Every year, my in-laws get me a new cozy pair of pjs for Christmas and every year, I wear the heck out of them. These womens pajamas have great reviews and come in a variety of colors and patterns to choose from – same with the men’s!
Subscription Boxes They’ll Love Getting Throughout the Year
Dollar Sock Crew Subscription Box
I think we all have that one friend who loves sporting trendy and/or cooky socks. A subscription to the Dollar Sock Crew will fit them perfectly. These subscriptions are super affordable too – it is called the Dollar Sock Crew after all! There are loads of different colors, themes, and patterns to choose from as well!
Firstleaf Wine Club
Wine drinker? They will love this gift – a subscription to Firstleaf Wine Club. Choose from red, white, a mix and how often to send a box. This is perfect for those people who love to try new wines, but also great for those who are just jumping into the wine world. Rather just select a few wines to get them? Just visit the Firstleaf store here and do that!
Bloomsy Box Subscription
Yes, flowers do “just” die, there’s something special about having fresh flowers in the house. There is just something about them that can lift your spirits a little and bring a smile out of you even on the roughest of days. Bloomsy Box offers flower subscriptions that you can gift to someone on your list. Once more, there are different options to choose from to fit your budget.
Apollo Surprise Box
Apollo Box is one of my go-to places for gifts. They also offer an Apollo Box Surprise Box that would make a great gift that keeps giving the whole year through. Each month or quarter, the gift recipient receives a box of unique goodies from Apollo Box. There are a few options to choose from when it comes to the subscription box – prices start at $30 for a box with products that are valued up to $50!
Mouth Snack Subscription Box
These snack subscription boxes from MOUTH come with a variety of 4-5 different snacks which could include a fruit and nut mix, gourmet pickles, popcorn, Indie poptarts and much more. This would be perfect for teens, college students, and bachelors on your gift list! I’m willing to bet grandparents would enjoy this too!
This gift idea is for those super busy people in your life or those people who love to cook and try new foods. Give them the gift of not having to figure out what’s for dinner with a gift card to Blue Apron. They’ll be able to decide what kind of meal and for how many they want to use their gift card for and they will be so grateful that all the heavy lifting was done for them. Personally, we have used Blue Apron before and loved it.
Stitch Fix is perfect for those people who need to treat themselves a little, but rarely have the time to do it. Without ever leaving their sofa, they can have a personal stylist curate an outfit or two just for them. And if they like it, they can sign up to receive a new “fix” every month or however often they wish. Of course, you might not be the best person to nail down the exact style of the person on your gift list, so give them a Stitch Fix gift card. Stitch Fix offers packages for both guys and gals!

Gift Cards get my vote! Little wrapping involved (if any) and the recepient buys what he/she really need.

Great ideas…..I really like subscription boxes for teens and twentiesomethings, especially for girly things like amkeup and perfume….Sephora Play, ipsy, Boxycharm, scentbird, Olfactif.
I have also given Bijoux Box, which is costume jewelry. So many amazing sub boxes.
And my husband STILL talks about the Beer-of-the-Month sub I got him twenty years ago! I wish someone would get me the hot sauce of the month subscription!
