We all have at least one on our list – that guy who seems to have everything. Don’t fear though – I’ve went straight to the source (men) and compiled a list of gifts for the impossible man. That’s right – here are over 25 gifts for hard to buy for men.
If you’ve been with me for a while, you may know that holiday gift giving is one of my favorite things in the world. I really love to pick out thoughtful, meaningful gifts for every person on my list and I relish in watching their faces when they open their gifts. Even us snarky gals have a soft side very now and then.
Let me tell ya though – picking out gifts for men can be hard. They can sometimes be just really hard to buy for, right?
So for this gift guide for men who you never really have any idea of what to get them, I went straight to the source – Grunt Labor.
I made him tell me the best gifts he’d received that he always uses over and over again, what items he’s putting on his list this year and what things he finds just really useful in life.

Gifts for Men Under $30
So they’ll never lose the remote again…
At just $10, maybe every guy needs to get one of these for Christmas this year. This is perfect for those guys who love leaning back in their chair with a drink close by. And maybe, you won’t get yelled at to help him look for the remote anymore either…. Find it here.
For those dapper dudes…
A pocket square is much more interesting when it’s fun, no? For those guys on your list who would agree, they will most definitely appreciate this vintage-esque Hawaii style pocket square.
When they know best…
When they’re the best one for figuring out what they need, get them a Happy Guy gift card. You can get these in amounts as little as $20 and they can be used at multiple different retailers!
A Really Cool Bottle Opener
This is one of my favorite gifts for guys I’ve found this year. These are actual bullets that were discharged by the military and then made into bottle openers. You can get them engraved as well. I opted to just have my gift recipient’s initials put on the one I got, but you can do their name, commemorate a special event, or whatever else you can dream up. Find the bullet bottle openers here and use code LIFESTYLE to get 10% off the bottle openers or anything else in this Etsy shop.
Cigar Related Gifts
Both my man of questionable honor and Grunt Labor love a good cigar every now and then. If my education of cigars serves me correctly, a key to keeping cigars fresh is a humidor. Here’s a nice humidor for doing just that.
Your cigar loving man already has a humidor? Well then what about a personalized cutter or cigar travel case?
Sports Related Grilling Items
For the man in your life that has an undying love for his sports team, I’m sure he would appreciate any of these sports team grilling accessories. They’ll literally be able to serve up their team spirit using the meat brander and/or hot dog brander. Then let them show their team spirit and throw in another manly grunt as well when they fully clad their grill with their beloved sports team on the team logo grill cover.
Personalized Collar Stays
Both Grunt and my father-in-law have a set of these and both love them. My father-in-law has a set that says “I love you Pa” on one and my daughter’s name and birthdate on the other. Grunt Labor has one like that as well, but with Daddy. He also has one that says “Kick Ass.” You can seriously have loads of fun customizing these collar stays.
A Great Watch Case
If your guy is like mine and has to have a watch for various occasions (sporty, dressy, fun, etc.) then get him this watch case – it holds 12 watches and they can gaze at their lovelies through the glass top.
An Out of This World Phone Stand
This is another one of those little gems from The Apollo Box. I think this little guy is so cute, but useful too. While he’s getting ready, shaving or just sitting at the table, he can easily watch ESPN, the news or a crazy cat video without ever actually holding his phone. Find the astronaut phone stand here.
Make him bulletproof.
It’s literally bulletproof glass. This was another find by Grunt Labor on Apollo Box and we’ve ordered two for people on our gift list. You can get them in a shot glass size and rocks glass size.
Give them a home base.
For their bachelor pad, man cave or workshop, get them a home base – doormat style. This one is especially great for those baseball fans on your list!
Make ’em snazzy.
For the more dapper fellow in your life, get them a bow tie in fun colors! This one comes in over 15 different colors.
Gifts for Men Under $50
For the Sneaker Collector
I think we all know at least one guy who is a bit of a sneaker fanatic. He’s ready to hit order as soon as the latest, trendy style is released. He has boxes of mint condition Jordans. While other’s sneakers look worn within the first month, his are always pristine. For him, there’s this book.
Anything Yeti
If your guy has yet to jump on the Yeti train, then here is the perfect gift for him. These are the real deal at keeping things cold. Both Grunt and I swear by them. The coozie is of course perfect for keeping cans cold. The lowball is great for cocktails on the deck. If you’re looking for a bigger ticket item, the Yeti Tundra Cooler will literally hold ice for days without melting.
So they like beer?
If they are really into craft beer and trying new kinds, then they might love you extra for signing them up for a monthly craft beer club. This craft beer club will send twelve beers a month in four different styles. It’s a gift that keeps on giving throughout the year.
A great knife.
I grew up with men who always carried a pocket knife on them. They used it to cut pears straight from the tree, clean their fingernails and often as a tool. The value of a good pocket knife should never be underestimated. This zebra wood pocket knife can also be personalized.
Personalized Cooler Bag
If they are heading out to go fishing, golfing or any other outdoor adventure, I’m sure they would appreciate a good cooler bag to take along with them. You can get this one in three different colors.
A wallet and a phone case
If they seem to often lose their phone and/or wallet, then this is the perfect gift for them. It puts the two into one and you can personalize it on top of that! Find this little gem right here!
Happy feet = happy guy.
Any of these slipper options are under $50 and are sure to make the fella’s feet on your list happy and comfortable for years to come. The warmest and softest are going to be the pile lined hardsole or softsole. If they tend to be tougher on shoes or like to walk the dog in their slippers, go for the hardsole for longer durability. The Double Bottle Fleece Slippers are going to be a bit lighter and flexible. More slipper options can also be found here.
For the baseball enthusiast…
For those guys on your list who love baseball and feel it their life’s mission to visit every MLB stadium, get them this baseball stadium map.
Gifts for Men Under $75
For the Golfer
Get the golfer on your list organized and maybe even give him some room to grow with this two bag golf organizer. It also has pull-out baskets for storing tees, balls and gloves.
A Good Set of Sawhorses
There are few things worse than rickety sawhorses. Grunt Labor and I have had our share of them. Finally getting good solid sawhorses that wouldn’t buckle when something was put on them was one of the best investments we made. This set of two sawhorses includes a cool clamping feature.
A Great Turntable
As we’ve previously discussed, vinyl is back. I’ve already bought myself this Crosley turntable – and it hasn’t stopped playing since I got it – except when I’m sleeping. This is perfect for those guys on your list who love vinyl.
A Manly Toiletry Bag
Every man needs a good travel bag – preferably a pretty leather one with their monogram on it. This is a great gift for guys who travel a lot!
Personalized Wallet with Hidden Message
This wallet is one of my favorite finds this holiday season. First off, it’s leather. I’ve never met a man who didn’t appreciate something leather. Secondly, you can have their initials put on the outside of it, but then also a special message on the inside. Think outside the box for the special message – I had song lyrics put on the wallet I got. Find this wallet here!
Gifts for Men Under $100
A Good Pair of Wireless Earphones
Grunt Labor is a runner and wanted new earphones for a really long time. He got these Beats headphones earlier this year and uses them non-stop. He says they of course have great sound, but are really comfortable as well, which many in-ear headphones aren’t.
A Great Weekender Bag
Every guy needs a good weekender bag. One that’s durable, but not too “pretty” looking. Grunt Labor has one and as I’ve said before, he uses it all the time. These bags are the perfect size for weekend trips.
Gifts for Men Under $125
Real Leather Padfolio
Grunt Labor requested a nice portfolio for Christmas as well. He’s tired of taking blah notebooks to meetings. This personalized leather portfolio is a little more pricey, but it will last forever. There are lots of options on Etsy though for leather portfolios.
Help him start the day off right…
I’m on a mission to bring back valets. These are just so handy and perfect for organizing your next day’s attire. Everything you need, all in one place. Find this valet here. This one even has a lidded storage compartment and pull-out drawer for added storage – what a great place to store watches too!
The trendiest gift for men this season….
A professional shave at home…
If you really want to win them over this holiday season, then a great gift option is the new Gillette Labs Heated Razor. It’s warming bar distributes heat throughout the shave to give that feel of a professional hot towel shave at home. Both he and his face will thank you.

My husband has a silicone wedding ring too and LOVES it…. he is also on his 3rd ring (the first one he accidentally gave to a homeless man in New Orleans and the second one he literally danced so hard it flew off and into the woods at a wedding, lol!). I’m going to check out that Yeti stuff! Thanks!
Jenna @ Rain on a Tin Roof says
Oh my gosh, Stephanie – those two reasons for losing his ring though are priceless!!!!! hahahahaha!
Carol Swanson says
It is my son-in-law’s birthday soon. I really appreciated this post because I never know what to buy for him.
Jenna @ Rain on a Tin Roof says
Great, Carol! I’m so glad it was helpful to you! Happy birthday to him!
Patty says
My husband is impossible to buy for, I’m not easy and I know that, one of the problems with us is all year long if we see something we want we buy it, so there really isn’t anything we want or need. What makes things even worse and this really stresses me out is that his birthday is the day after Christmas. I end up buying him clothes (I know boring), but honestly the man has no interest in anything except his motorcycles and he doesn’t like anyone to buy anything for his motorcycles except him.
He has to many watches, and a beautiful case for them, there is only one wallet he likes, he is not into sports, and I’m a football crazed fan. Part of the problem is he is on the road 5-6 days a week, that doesn’t leave much time for other interest. Like me he loves leather jackets so I’m thinking that will be his biggy this year. (he doesn’t need one). The rest of my shopping is done, finished, just need one more gift and then need to pick up some stocking stuffers.
I’m thinking those headphones will be perfect for my stepson, he is the only one I needed to buy just one more gift for, and will take care of that tonight, thanks so much you saved me a lot of searching. Now I can sit back and enjoy the holidays.
Jenna @ Rain on a Tin Roof says
Girl, you are on top of your shopping list! I totally get it about your hubby – my dad is the same way! I have the hardest time figuring out what to buy for him!
Patty says
One more thing those sawhorses are worth every penny. That was my Christmas present last year, they are the best.
Jenna @ Rain on a Tin Roof says
That’s good to hear, Patty! I agree -good sawhorses are the best!
Lisa A. says
What a great list Jenna, I typically don’t pay much attention to suggested shopping lists as I don’t usually see anything that really “grabs” me….Your suggestions were GREAT! Thanks!
Jenna @ Rain on a Tin Roof says
I’m so glad to hear that, Lisa! That happens with me too and that’s one reason why I did these – I don’t want generic gift ideas, I want good ones that people will actually like!
Donna Neace says
Thanks “JENNA” for sharing awesome gift ideas. I really like A watch case and BEATS IN-EAR HEADPHONES for my loving person from your list. I know he’ll be very happy.
