Have a couple or two on your holiday gift list this year? Sometimes it’s easier to find the perfect gifts for couples, rather than finding something for each of them individually. Here, you’ll find 15+ gift ideas for couples – at least a thing or two here should make them both happy!
When we were visiting friends in New York last month, we were talking about Christmas and gifts and all that good stuff. When asked about how many people were on our gift list, my response was, oh, not that many. Grunt gave me the “what are you talking about look” and was like, we have a lot, but gifting is Jenna’s thing, so I just go with it.
See, it doesn’t always seem like a lot to me. I’m sure part of it is because I do love gift giving so much, but I also tend to look for gifts that would work well for couples on my list and kill two birds with one stone. I especially do this a lot with aunts and uncles, parents, and close friends.
I’ve gathered up some gift ideas for couples that could also potentially help you kill two birds with one stone. 🙂 Whether they are young or old, newly married or married for just a few months, hopefully there is something here that would work for the both of them.

Christmas Gifts for Couples
A Friendly Drinking Competition
While this wouldn’t work for me and Grunt since he’s one of the few guys I know that doesn’t drink wine or beer (but can make a mean margarita), it could work for lots of other couples on both mine and your list! You can have either one of these cork and cap traps personalized with the couple’s names or something else of your choosing. You could even get cute with it and put in a message like “Kick his (insert your favorite word for the rear end here, you all know what I would put), girl.” 😉 You can use code A242 through 11/14 at Things Remembered to get an extra 10% off of these and anything else on their site.
Something pretty and useful.
I am a sucker for a good return address stamp and/or labels. I tend to lean toward the stamps though because the only thing you could run out of would be ink and that’s reloadable whereas you would always have to buy more labels. I think this return address stamp is simple, but classic and that any couple would appreciate it – especially when they are putting their return address on all those holiday cards! There are also more options to choose from in this Etsy shop.
You guys. When I found these custom cookie cutters, I nearly fell out of my seat! This is such a fun gift idea!! All you do is send in a photo of the couple when you buy the cutter and the next thing you know, you’ve got a custom cookie cutter that looks just like them! I actually had one of these made for both a couple on my list and the Circus as a stocking stuffer and they both really look like the couple and the Circus! I was so impressed! It would be really fun to buy one of these for the couple, then make cookies for them as part of the gift as well. Let them open the cookies first and see their faces, then give them the cookie cutter! You can also get a single person cookie cutter here.
A place to unwind.
If you want to give them something they can enjoy for years to come, I highly suggest a couple of Adirondack chairs. In terms of style and comfort for outdoor seating, I don’t think you can ever go wrong with this kind of chair. We’ve gotten both my in-laws and my dad and stepmom a set of these as gifts in the past and both have and still are throughly enjoying them. These are also great for young couples who are starting out and don’t have a lot of extra money to spend on something like this. This set from GDF Studio also folds up for easy storage if they don’t want to leave them out all the time.
A Commemorative Ornament
When I stumbled upon this Christmas ornament, it was another laugh out loud moment! This isn’t one of your sappy, all in love, first Christmas ornaments. It’s much better than that! haha! This first Christmas spooning ornament is perfect for of course, newlyweds! If they’ve been together for a while, you could opt for this spoon that says Spooning Since and then their wedding date.
Go ahead and let them wine about it.
Wines are perfect for couples, both young and old. If they are young, chances are, they aren’t going to often splurge on a bottle of good wine. Heck, I’m in my 30s and I rarely spoil myself with a good bottle of wine. Do the spoiling and splurging for them – they will most definitely appreciate it. Buy them a few unique wines from Firstleaf or get them a membership to the Firstleaf Wine Club where they will receive a few bottles picked especially for them every month, two months or however often you decide. Wine is also a great gift for any couple who enjoys a bottle of good wine and wouldn’t mind trying out new ones.
Cheese to go with that wine?
If they are foodies or enjoy some great cheese to go with their wine or snacking, this gourmet cheese crate is a great gift idea for couples. It comes with four different cheeses as well as dried fruits and mixed nuts.
Fancy House Number Sign
Help them mark their territory in style with this family name and house number plaque. It is fully customizable – you can even choose from over 15 different color combinations.
Two Hearts from Two States
I just adore this pillow. It’s perfect for the couple who comes from two different states. It’s fully customizable – you can choose which two states, what colors, and where to have the hearts placed as well.
For the Couple Who Entertains
While it is a cutting board, this is also a perfect charcuterie board, so perfect for those couples who like to have friends over for drinks and eats. You can have it personalized with their name, monogram, date, or whatever you like. I love the slate inlay it has – it gives a nice contrast to the wood.
A place for each to call their own.
Get each of them their own monogrammed dresser tray, but in matching colors. Each will have their own designated spot to drop their jewelry, phone, etc. on the dresser. These trays will keep all the “smalls” corralled to keep their dresser clean.
Something they can cozy up under.
This throw is something they will enjoy for years to come. It has a classic cream cable knit top, but underneath, it’s lined with cozy, warm sherpa. Have it monogrammed with their initials in your choice of monogram style and color. Use code A242 to get an extra 10% off this throw through 11/14.
Stake their claim.
Show people who they’re about to mess with when that door opens. This doormat is hand lettered and can of course be customized!
Give them love and luck.
If you didn’t know, horseshoes are a symbol of good luck. Anytime I find them around the farm, I throw them up on the nearest random nail I find whether it’s on the house or in the toolshed. I figure you can’t ever have too many potential ways to get luck on your side. You can have this horseshoe customized with different wording options and different ribbon colors.
Keeping it in the family.
If they might do a good bit of moving around, then the address plaque I showed earlier might not be the best option for them. Instead, you could go with a family name sign that they could take with them wherever they go.
Send them on a picnic.
If they love the great outdoors, this picnic basket is the perfect gift for them. Personalize it however you wish and choose from two different lid color options. This picnic basket also comes in two different sizes to pick from.
