Red, Green and Navy Christmas Home Tour: Part Two

After telling you lies in round one of my Christmas home tour yesterday, I thought today I would tell you a story.

If you are a regular here, you know I love stories and have lots of them. If you are new here and hopping over from Lindsay’s place (she’s the brainchild behind Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours), The White Buffalo Styling Co., or from Just a Girl, welcome. I hope you like stories too. Be sure to visit everyone else in the Christmas home tours at the end of this post!

Every Christmas, when its time to wrap gifts, I go downstairs.

Where its quiet.

And I pull out the wrapping paper, the tape, scissors, gift tags and ribbon.

I don’t want to have to get up for anything.

Then I find the stack of dvds.

Blow off the dust.

And search for the one labeled Christmas 1988 from Grannie’s Tape, put it into the dvd player and push play.

Because its my favorite.

And I wrap gifts.

And as I wrap gifts.

I listen.

To me – when I was three years old.

And to their voices.

And I try to memorize every word.

And I watch.

Every smile.

Every laugh.

Every present that was given.

I try to remember what the burnt orange carpet felt like.

And how shiny that Power Wheels Jeep was.

But most of all, I just listen and watch.

And think about my Grannie & Pap.

Thanks, Cassie! That was me totally being lazy and like, “Oh my buffet is red. Green and red are Christmas colors. We’ll make the tassel garland green.” haha!

Aww… such a sweet story about your dvd. Christmas always makes me so nostalgic…

I love your tree. I’ll bet there’s a story behind every ornament on there, too!
