Summer Home Tours: The 70’s Landing Pad Home Tour, Part 2

It’s official.

I’m not Superwoman.

Sometime last week though, I thought I was.

You see, I thought that after showing you the first part of my home tour last week, I would be able to show you the rest of the house today. This would have entailed me finishing out all the trim painting in the master bathroom as well as staining the vanity, cleaning and decorating the den, same with the Circus’ room and then photographing it all.

I have no idea what I was thinking, but around noon on Saturday as I was staining the vanity two hours before my daughter’s dance recital, it occurred to me that the doors wouldn’t be able to go back on for at least five days so the topcoat could fully cure. At that point, I decided that you would understand and that giving you a tour of our master bedroom and the Circus’ bedroom would be good enough because that’s the best I could do given that I didn’t wake up with those superpowers I’d been praying for.

So if you are one of my regular freaks around here, I realize you’ve already seen our master and the only thing new will be the Circus’ room. But I know you understand. If you’re new here and hopping over from Marty at A Stroll Thru Life (our hostess with the mostest) or Alicia at Thrifty and Chic, then I hope you’ll enjoy the tour and come back for the rest of the room reveals later. You can also see the first part of my home tour – the living room, dining room, hall bathroom and my office – here. Also, be sure to visit the rest of the stops on the tour today at the bottom of this post!

I have to say, I fall a little more in love with our master bedroom everyday.

This room was actually the very first room to get completely redone at the 70’s Landing Pad. I call it the Well Traveled Master Bedroom.

I love your bedroom. Your black and white wall is fabulous and who else could carpet another wall and make it all fabulous. The Circus room is perfect too. Love her pretty yellow touches. Great tour. Thanks so much for joining the 2016 Summer Home Tours.

Every time I look at your Master I see something I missed before. I would have a hard time getting out of bed each morning and leaving that room. I love that carpet covered wall, I haven’t seen that done since the 70’s, but back then it was done with shag carpet, your wall doesn’t resemble that at all, it is so rich and soothing, and it probably helps with soundproofing (no early morning cartoons waking you up on week ends).

The Circus bedroom is just adorable, I can’t believe in this day and age she chose Cowboy and Cowgirl theme, I love it, that lamp and bed linens too cute, the Cowboy quilt at the foot of her bed I have seen before, did your grandmother make that? If I remember right it had something to do with your Pap. Speaking of the bed, what can I say that bed is so dang gorgeous, absolutely perfect for her and the decor, I swear she could be mine with all the Cowgirl and Cowboy stuff and add the shimmer and shine, that is my dream room when I was seven years old, I’m green with envy haha, that pillow with the pink horses, perfect. The colors are just gorgeous, and that book shelf turned out beautiful, the rug is beautiful, and speaking of rug the picture of her on the floor with her sunglasses and the cat with his sunglasses is priceless. If you ever get tired of doing this I think you could specialize in kid photography, you have a way of capturing the spirit of the child, you need to have a poster made from that photo.

I’m sure there is so much more to this bedroom I haven’t seen or mentioned, but there is just so much to this room. I’m sure she loves it and what is so cool is that you let her make decisions and that makes her very happy and love her special space that much more.

Jenna you are doing a wonderful job on the house and I can’t wait to see the rest of it. I wish I had your energy and could get busy on my own house, you have given me so many good ideas.

Patty, can I call you each morning for a pep talk? Seriously, you just made my day, girl! Thank you!! I was a little worried with the carpet covered wall that it might look like those tacky carpeted walls of the 70’s but I’m so glad I gave it a whirl, because I love it too! Adds a whole other dimension to the space! Yes, the cowboy quilt was made by my Grannie for my dad and uncle when they were kids. The Circus loves anything horse, cow, farm, animals related, so it fit perfectly in her room! I was thrilled it did to say the least! I’m really glad it worked with the other colors in the space too – I was worried about that one, but honestly I wouldn’t have cared if it didn’t because we love the quilt too much to hide it away!

WOWSA, you are some decorator gal. Been long time since I commented on one of your posts, think your little gal was about two. Where has time gone? I saw your bedroom wall when going thru frog tape entries, sophisticated. Your room is huge and you have awesome “stuff” in it, gorgeous, love green carpeted wall.
Your little girl is adorable but then you know that, right? Her and cat with shades is priceless. As a previous commenter said, should have photo made into poster.
Keeping busy just a tad huh? For some reason we have this crazy idea we can do it all in one day. No wonder I was a nut case with 4 kids. Now am just an old nut case, lol. Being with hubs 24/7 can get to me.
Good luck, love these home tours, can only imagine work involved to get house ready. Happy daze

Here I am again, been lazy no-good old bat today. Glad to hear from you and to see how big your little sweetie has gotten.
Was just thinking my oldest boy at 7 months weighed 29 lbs. Can you imagine how big that kid was?Now he’s 53, is 6’3″ inches, weighs about 230, buff. He works out all time and eats healthy.
Working on going thru papers have printed out and kept near computer. Took bakers rack out of here to put on front porch for plants but earlier this year decided to use it to hold printer, paper, etc Then cause am keeper of way too many things pretty soon shelves are cluttered. o trying to make myself get tidy.
Enjoyed your home tour. I still haven’t started blob, doubt ever will, too lazy and spend so much time reading other peoples even tho sure so enjoy it. Have learned so much in years since discovering blogs. Hubs has supper ready so better wash my paws. Have wonderful weekend
