The Ultimate DIY Outdoor Sectional

DIY Outdoor Sectional with Built-In Umbrella and Drink Coolers

Grunt Labor is working on creating the ultimate backyard.

Last year, we built the deck and made over the screened-in porch.

This year, we added on a patio.

And if this summer heat gets any worse, there’s going to be a new pool with me in it on a pink flamingo float.

After said patio was finished, we looked at it and asked ourselves what in the world we were going to put on it.

Didn’t think that one through.

So we built an outdoor sectional.

Ok, I came up with the idea and Grunt Labor mostly built it.

Oh, and Nicky helped a little. He got mad that I didn’t mention him in my Facebook post about the sectional, so I have to mention him here. He’s such a girl sometimes.

Of course, the ultimate backyard must include ultimate seating and this is the ultimate DIY outdoor sectional.

Disclosure: Home Depot provided us with a gift card to build this DIY outdoor sectional. However, all opinions and love of glass coke bottles are 100% mine.

Because it has a built-in cooler.

And individual drink coolers.

And a place for an umbrella.

Boom.

We partnered with The Home Depot on this project that I still can’t quite believe we built ourselves.

The full tutorial is on The Home Depot’s Apron Blog.

Head over there for the how-to and see if you can spot what’s wrong with the kid’s attire in the last photos – #momfail

My husband made me something similar, though yours is FAINCier. Ours is just a couple of end tables with the coolers on the corners. Now I must have a sectional with coolers! I am a girl what loves her cold beverages.

Here’s our (and your) next project! (NO affiliation)

I think the trough could be used for all kinds of things… candles/candle holders, utensils, flowers, etc etc etc

Yep, shoes on the wrong feet. That sounds so silly to say Circus has wrong feet. Her feet are right, the shoes are wrong.

Grunt needs some leg sun, lol. Love your tow-headed Circus. 😉 It’s nice to have individual drink coolers, you don’t wanna water down good Coke with ice cubes.

How much did it cost? We just bought a new house with two deck areas that are, sadly, empty. this looks like the perfect solution!

Hey Jess! Including every single thing on the bench, with the exception of the actual drinks, we spent right around $350. That’s the wood, cushions, umbrella, galvanized pails, wood screws, etc. The cushions were I think around $60 for all four, so you could do without those to cut down on costs if you wanted to.
