I have a serious obsession with lamps. In fact, many would say I’m a lamp hoarder. One of my favorite things about lamps though, is that they can easily be made over. Here are some of my favorite DIY lamp makeovers and ideas:

And while we are the subject of lamps and lampshades…
Do you like to make your own lamp shades or customize store bought shades?
I know it seems that I am always re-covering a lamp shade!
A month or so back, I was contacted by Kiri Masters to review a DIY lampshade kit she was going to sell on Etsy. Of course, I jumped on it! I love lamps and I love custom lampshades.
I got the kit, made the shade and was completely and 100% impressed! The shade looked SO professional!
Here’s Kiri’s story:
Kiri started making her own lampshades after being frustrated by a lack of affordable, stylish drum lampshades in stores. After making some of her own, she realized how simple and rewarding making your own lampshades could be, and how a DIY lampshade could be completely customized to fit in with one’s home decor.
Soon after, Kiri created DIY lampshade kits after realizing many other people were interested in making their own custom lampshade. These kits contain everything you need to create your own custom lampshade – adhesive styrene, lampshade rings, glue, clips and a molding stick. All that’s required is scissors, a paintbrush, and your choice of fabric to cover the shade.

Aren’t they gorgeous?! And they totally look they were purchased at a store!
