King Headboards for $300 or Less

I am not a snuggler.

I can be a snuggler for about five minutes and then you need to get off of me.

Grunt Labor isn’t a snuggler either. This is good.

However, he does roll over in his sleep quite a bit and while doing so, his face sometimes becomes thisclose to mine and he breathes right on me.

And I hate that.

I do love him though, don’t get me wrong. He knows I can’t stand him breathing on me. Some nights I give him an elbow or kick to get him to roll back over. If I’m feeling nice and don’t, then I usually don’t sleep great or it takes me forever to get to sleep and then he feels terrible the next morning when he finds out I didn’t sleep because he was breathing on me.

We need a king sized bed.

The best sleep we get is when we stay in hotels with king sized beds. I love him, but I need him to be on his side of the bed. In his defense, he says there are some nights I get right up on him, although I don’t remember this, so I cannot attest to its validity. Maybe he needs me to be on my side of the bed as well though.

So we’re on the hunt for a king size headboard and/or bed that won’t cost a year’s worth of preschool.

Here’s what I’ve found so far…

King Size Headboards for $300 or Less + Awesome Sources for all Sizes of Headboards - gorgeous selections and affordable! White Upholstered Headboard

Sovereign King Headboard

This headboard also comes in other colors as well. Its upholstered in vinyl, so not quite as cozy as another material, but would be very easy to wipe down when its dusty. It has a very chic shape to it.

Curl King Nailhead Headboard

This one is also available in ivory. Its upholstered in linen, so a bit more cozy and it’s neutral, so it would work with lots of styles.

Clique King Headboard

Also available in ivory, this one has some tufting and is also upholstered in linen.

Confession: I may have lied a little about the next three headboards being $300 or less. They are all actually $320. I just couldn’t let a measley $20 not let me share them with you…King Size Headboards for $300 or Less + Awesome Sources for all Sizes of Headboards - gorgeous selections and affordable! Green Upholstered Headboard

Seville Velvet Headboard

I won’t lie – I love that green, however it is also available in five other colors.
King Size Headboards for $300 or Less + Awesome Sources for all Sizes of Headboards - gorgeous selections and affordable! Floral Upholstered Headboard

Floral Patterned Headboard

I never thought I would be a floral patterned headboard person, but I love the rich hues on this one. Other patterns also available.

Blue & White Patterned Headboard

The blue dots on this one aren’t perfect, which is what I like about it. King Size Headboards for $300 or Less + Awesome Sources for all Sizes of Headboards - gorgeous selections and affordable! Black Upholstered Headboard

Annabel Black Headboard

This one is definitely more on the manly side, but I’m still digging it. Its upholstered in vinyl and I think it would look awesome against a dark green wall.

Rectangle-y Modern Headboard

Sadly, this was the only non-upholstered headboard I found that was under $300 and that I actually liked. To me, it has a vintage-y mid-century modern feel. I do think it would be really pretty painted a fun pop of color.

Do you have any great headboard sources? Help a sister out. I need to sleep.

I hear ya sista, I have been wanting a king sized bed for 15 years (we have been married for 15 years) and he has finally seen the light! I know exactly what mattress I want but I too am on the hunt for the perfect, yet affordable, king sized headboard.

Ooooh, that velvet headboard is my favorite!! I hate sharing a bed…best part of being single is sleeping alone and smack in the middle of my big ol’ bed. I don’t even let me dog sleep with me (she snores and breathes on me…ick). This will sound horrible but one time I told my husband that sharing a bed was for poor people who couldn’t afford a bigger house. I was kidding. Sort of. There’s a reason we’re divorced…lol Happy shopping!

I could take them or leave them. I do think if its a small space, I’d rather forgo one to save space.

King sized headboards are the best gift a married couple can give themselves, forever and ever, amen!

Jenna with your mad diy skills it would be easy to make a homemade headboard. Upholstered, made from an old door, or remaking an old junky headboard are all easy.

I know, Debbie, but honestly, Grunt and I tried a DIY headboard one time and it didn’t go over so hot….that may be one thing I’m not good at DIYing…

Wow! I’m really surprised that you’re not making your own headboard! Simplest way to get what you want. All you’d have to do is find a shape you like and either upholster or paint it a color you like. Plywood or repurposed items would work. Hugs and Grins, Becka

I thought a king size bed would stop my husband from sleeping against me, but it hasn’t between his hot body and my hot flashes I’m ready for a padded cell.
The added cost of sheets, quilts, and spreads I really wish I had a queen size bed, unless what I’m about to do helps then I will be happy, I am going to go by one of those full length body pillows and put it right down the middle of the bed, and if he comes across that then they better get that padded cell ready for me.

You mean that between the two of you (you know, the awesome Freak and Grunt Labor) you can’t design and make your own totally fabulous headboard?? We had a Cal-King…gave it away as it was way too big for our tiny bedroom. Even our queen is pushing it, a double would fit so much better, but then hubby would have to sleep in a different room!!!

I hate snuggling too! So good to know I am not the only female! My hubby is a snuggler and it kills me! But he understands my aversion to it and we compromise. You know what really gets me is when watching movies everyone snuggles…..allllllllll freakin night…..I don’t get spooning? If someone had to touch me all night I could easily commit murder! Oh and I love the green velvet….beautiful.

We have a queen and my husband isn’t a problem but the 22 pound cat is!! The cat likes to sleep horizontal. And I’m the dumb soft one who contorts myself around the cat, then I wake up all achy.

And I have an uncle who decided they needed a king bed so the dogs could sleep with him and my aunt. A king wouldn’t fit in their bedroom. So they bought a new house with a bigger bedroom, LOL!

when my husband and I married we built a house that is “ours” we went from a queen bed to a king OMG best decision EVER! The dog sleeps sideways between us to make sure there is no accidental snuggling. Love him but I don’t want his hot sweaty slobbery snoring body on my hot sweaty slobbering body – no I don’t snore , I know this because I have never heard it. Get the king bed! I bought a king frame at a consignment shop and painted that sucker. I am ready to paint it again because I change my furniture more than some people change their socks……thanks for making me want a new one!

I saw some good deals but forget where ATM, I’ll get back to you. I got my queen tufted, neutral upholstered headboard for a bit over $100 and my leather bed for $300 back in 2007 from a now-defunct shopping/social media/reverse auction website that sold out to MSN, and Bing was born. Jellyfish.com was the bomb, many of us are still friends, we have a private Facebook page …. we really miss JF, especially when we have a major purchase to make. There will never be another place like it. I could name off many of my home furnishings and the bottom-dollar price I paid but the fun times at noon guessing prices, winning prizes and the crazy Wednesday nights will never be forgotten. I share my queen bed with two pug dogs, they’re like two loaves of bread and I’m stuck in the middle like a slice of bologna!
