This is the post when I’m supposed to lie to you.
When I don’t tell you that I went with red, green, and navy Christmas decorations because they worked so well with the decor in the rest of my house.
When I’m supposed to act like I really cozy up in the adirondack chair outside….
When its 30 degrees out.
Of course I do, don’t you? Psssshhhh…
And that I just leave Christmas presents on my porch.
For anyone to just walk by and grab.
And I’m not supposed to tell you about how I utterly failed at a new holiday wreath on multiple tries this year…
And that I finally opted to just put the never-failed-me-yet Santa tinsel wreath on the door.
I’m also supposed to pretend that my entryway table is always that clean.
And that the bowl of Sour Patch Kids actually stays that full for more than a day.
And that all the toys are always put away.
Yes, I’m aware the camel is on top of the manger. Apparently, the kid feels a camel should have proclaimed Baby Jesus’ birth instead of an angel. Who am I to judge?
And I’ll pretend that I didn’t just move all those gifts from the outside to the entry table to the chalkboard wall. I totally just have that many laying around.
I also won’t admit to the fact that I am totally making my gifts double as decor all around the house.
I totally just draped this wreath over the kitchen window very nonchalantly. Its not like it took me days to figure out a place for it and then 30 minutes to tie the ribbon just right.
And I’ll also not tell you about crawling up on the kitchen island just to get the perfect angle for the photo of the open shelves.
And I also won’t tell you that this deer looks almost exactly the same as it did in last year’s Christmas tour.
That may or may not even be the exact same drawings around it. Surely, I’ve changed it in a year……
But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right?
And that is exactly what I learned from this holiday’s decorating – do what works (even if its the same as last year), make it simple, and don’t over analyze yourself.
You know you don’t wanna miss any of this crazy.
