Sometimes, I must think I’m Wonder Woman.
At the beginning of every week, I create a list of what I need / want to get accomplished.
The list is usually one full page of my large planner long and somehow I think I will be able to do all this stuff within the week.
The only time I get to work on my projects and the blog is a few hours each day before the kid wakes up and after she goes to sleep, and for 4 1/2 hours two days a week while she is at preschool.
I must be crazy.
Not every item on that list ever gets checked off.
Needless to say, I had planned on showing this completed guest bedroom and office space to you months ago.
Whatever voice in my head telling me that was insane.
You have seen some projects from it already, but you haven’t seen the whole enchilada.
Just for the record: I know I also showed you my master bedroom mini-makeover two weeks ago. Don’t expect a bi-weekly room makeover from me. That was a fluke and stressful and obviously, once more, I’m starting to realize I’m not Wonder Woman.
It would be damn cool if I were though.
Before you see all the beauty shots, let’s start with a couple before photos, shall we?
This room has been last on the list since we moved into the foreclosure. It did get new carpet and a paint job, as did all the other rooms when we moved in, but that’s it.
Things were just kind of thrown haphazardly in here until I knew the direction I wanted to go with it.
I finally figured out that direction.
This is where I work everyday, so in all honesty, I totally made this room more about me than any other room in the house.
Call me selfish if you want. I will fully agree and totally embrace that fact.
The desk I made from two different pieces of furniture is so ridiculously functional and gorgeous that I am still smitten with it. I am really excited that my Jonathan Adler inspired chair still worked in the space. I so didn’t want to give it up.
What do you think of the whole picture? I am over the moon with how it turned out. You can get the details on the leopard print accent wall here.
I also made that “hello darlin'” wall art on the cheap.
You saw the navy and gold chests back in December. At that point, I wasn’t sure what direction I was going in the space. I just knew I loved navy and gold, so I did the chests that way.
I’m not quite sure about that paint stroke lamp yet. I can’t decide if its a DIY fail or win. What are your thoughts? Its ok, I can take the criticism. Its definitely not how I pictured it in my head, but I like to be real around here and let you know that I screw up very often.
I’ve already shared the super easy duck tape curtains with you as well.
I pulled out another side table I had downstairs and gave it the same navy and gold treatment for the other side of the bed.
I love how large the top of it is. It allows me to display more crap like the DIY gift bag art I showed you last week.
Look, there is still plenty of room left for guests to drop their stuff. I don’t have that much crap on it after all.
