Yes, me again. Back with more DIY party decorations from the blue and pink birthday party extravaganza. This time, I’m super excited to share this DIY cupcake stand with you. They are adorable and I made them using items I found at thrift stores!
DIY Cupcake Stands
I didn’t really have a certain one as inspiration. I just got lucky enough to happen upon whatever-the-heck-these-baking-devices-are at Goodwill on half-off day.
They were originally that gray metal baking color. I sprayed them with white spray paint and a gloss topcoat.
I pulled out some wood candlestick holders I had and sprayed them with the same white spray paint and gloss topcoat. Then, I put the unknown baking device on top of the candlestick holder with liquid nails and a star DIY cupcake stands were born.
That could be a slightly burnt cupcake on the edge there. Uhhhh….. whoops? I’ve never claimed to be a baker, y’all.
As you could probably see in one of the previous photos, there was writing stamped on the unknown baking device. I used some blue and white polka dot wrapping paper from Wholeport to make a cover for the top of the holder. It took care of the problem and added some more bling to the blue and pink party.
I sprayed the DIY cupcake stands white because that made them neutral, and meant that I could re-use them more. All I gotta do is switch out the paper.
The cost of this project:
Unknown Baking Devices: $1.50 each = $3
Candlestick Holders: Free (my aunt was going to throw them away. hello?! Give them to the hoarder, please!)
Spray paint and liquid nails were all on hand already!
Have you done any projects like these DIY Cupcake stands before?
And if anyone knows what the unknown baking devices are actually used for (besides stellar cupcake stands), I would love to know.
