The Circus is turning five next month. The personality this kid has got on her is something else and nothing that I ever thought a five year old could possess. I’m already considering pre-checking myself into the local mental health hospital because if this continues and her personality grows as she grows, I don’t know how I’ll ever make it through her middle and high school years.
But then again, I kind of made her that way.
The Circus is a very well-rounded child. She can talk both princesses and superheroes, The Stones and Miranda Lambert, Ally McBeal and Gunsmoke with the best of them. She’s pretty cool, even if she is my kid.
All that being said, you can have a cool kid with loads of personality too. Here’s my advice. 😉
Teach them how to negotiate.
She gets what she wants and so do I. It’s a win-win situation through negotiation. One day, she’ll run a hugely successful business, hell maybe even a country, and it will all be because I taught her killer negotiation and leadership skills . 😉
Instill in them
wholesome solid core values.
Such as not smelling like a whorehouse when you walk out the door.
Teach them to dream big, while still keeping it in the budget.
I really have no idea where she came up with that one.
Immerse them in classical music.
Her Uncle Brandon and Aunt Caitlin took her shopping…
I don’t know that I was ever more proud of her than when I heard that. #winning Also, we’ve been through Dolly Parton’s autobiography looking at the pictures more than I can count.
There was also the time her uncle tried to tell her that KISS was the greatest rock n’ roll band of all time.
KISS is good, but not Stones good.
Provide good role models for them.
Us girls really need an Ally reunion. 😉
Happy Freak Show Friday!
