Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board

Trash is most definitely a relative word.

I may or may not be the creepy lady stalking her neighbors as they take trash out to make sure they aren’t throwing something away I may want.

A similar occurrence as mentioned above may or may not have happened just last night.

And since I may or may not have a fondness for what others consider trash, I am stoked about this new series:

Trash to Treasure Series {rainonatinroof.com}

The first Friday of every month you can join myself, Thistlewood Farms, So Much Better with Age and a Guest Host for a fabulous trash to treasure project that costs $10 or less. This month, we are graced by the presence of At the Pickett Fence as our guest host.

For my trash to treasure project this month, I took a bulletin board my husband was going to toss and covered it in fabric.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

But, Jenna, this is nothing new.

Fabric covered message boards are everywhere.

Well, mine is slightly different.

Look closer.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

Closer.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

No, not at that beautiful gold hardware I added to give it a “campaign” feel.

But, yes, go on and admire it too.

Now, look closer.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

There ya go. See, it’s a sassy bulletin board.

This was simple!

First, I cut my fabric a little bigger than my board.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

I wanted the definition of the frame around the bulletin board, so first, I ran hot glue around the front of the board where the cork and frame meet, then quickly pushed the fabric into that crevice.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

And after that , I just hot glued the fabric along the back to secure it.

That fabulous gold hardware is just a four pack of “L” brackets that I spray painted gold and then screwed in the corners.

Oh, and those fantastic little golden animal pushpins.

They are simply spray painted plastic animals I picked up at a yard sale and then hot glued them to tacks.

Now, for the fun.

Here’s what some of my “sassy” photos say and my commentary.

Get excited.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

Absolutely. I have a clear purpose.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

How rude.

If you just pictured Stephanie Tanner saying that, you are my best friend.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

Every time, call me. Every single time. I’m sure I will have something to say as well. And then we will both feel better about ourselves.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

Everyday. Everyday, put on your awesome pants. My tend to be stretchy pants or shorts.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

I beg of you. Please do this. Its really for the good of mankind.

Sassy Fabric Covered Message Board {rainonatinroof.com} #messageboard #trashtotreasure

So confusing. I mean, really, someone should pay me to just be me. Because I’m that fabulous.

I hope you enjoyed that as much as I did.

I love this!! I am just now getting on board with Gold. I’m loving it! I did find out that not all gold spray paints are the same. I used a 14 kt gold spray from Michaels that was Amazing. But then I got lazy because Lowes is closer and bought their metallic gold spray. If I wouldn’t have used the one I got from Michaels I wouldn’t have know a difference. Any whoo! I love the spray painted animals for push pins! SUPER CUTE! The Sassy notes are just my style! Love it!! Lesley

It’s called premium 18kt gold plate metallic paint by Krylon they didn’t have it at Lowes where I bought the Valspar brilliant gold!! Huge difference between the two the 18kt is so much more of a true shiny gold!!

I love this, Jenna! I’ve gotten everything from antique furniture to planting pots of all sizes to boxes of crafting supplies from my neighbors! Heck, I even pulled a handmade quilt out of a garbage can when I was running around town one day; it just needed a couple of small repairs and of course, a good laundering. I think it does say something that when I read “How Rude!” it was in my Stephanie Tanner voice. And I pictured her with her curly perm hair of seasons 1 and 2.

Then I read the next line.
