*Thanks to Bellacor for providing a great giveaway for my readers and providing me with the lighting fixtures below!
There were thirteen ceiling fans in the 70’s Landing Pad when we bought the house. I am now down to only two remaining – one in Grunt Labor’s office and one in Bill’s room. Let me say, I’m not a ceiling fan hater. In fact, I do really like some of the newer ones I’ve seen lately that are more modern and streamlined. However, the one that’s in Will’s room is exactly the same as the one that hung in my bedroom 31 years ago. It’s hideous. While I haven’t found a fixture to replace that one yet, I did find two fixtures from Bellacor to replace the ceiling fans in my office and the Circus’ room.
I went for this Quinn Brushed Gold Pendant Light in the Circus’ room. You may remember that I had originally really wanted to DIY a cowboy hat light fixture for her room. Well, the more I thought about it, the more I became terrified that the bulb would get too hot, catch the hat on fire and burn the house down. My mind goes from zero to 100 in 0.2 seconds.
This light adds a little feminine but playful touch to her room and ties in nicely with the brass bed. I also like how well it pops off the purple-navy walls. The Quinn fixture is actually being discontinued, so right now it’s nearly half-off. With the lighting crossed off the list in the Circus’ room, I only have about three more projects left to do in there!
In my office, I got the Westbrook Winter Gold Pendant Fixture. I am a person who needs lots of light when I’m working, so I wanted something were the bulbs were exposed.
The finish on the Westbrook is called Honey Gold. It’s more silver when the lights are off, but gets a more gold tone when the lights are on.
As far as my office goes, this light crossed one thing off the list, but there’s still much more to do. I guess it makes total sense for the one room that I probably spend a huge portion of my time in to be put last on the list, right?
A big thanks to Bellacor for sending me the fixtures for these two rooms. They are also giving two of my readers a $500 shopping spree toward any Capital Lighting products of their choice! Fill out the form below to enter!
