How to Start a Fire Fast

I didn’t fall in love with Grunt Labor on a fire pit night. But he definitely got a few brownie points the first time we set around a fire pit.

There are many things that seem to be imprinted on your DNA when you are born in the country. One of those things is a love for fire pit nights. There aren’t many things better than a weekend night spent around a fire pit with good friends, good drinks and good music. In fact, I feel I should also write you a fire pit playlist now that I think about it. But I digress. A good fire is imperative though to the night’s success. You need it big, but not too big and you don’t want to have to waste too much time starting it. So let me introduce you to the coolest new fire lighting tool you have ever seen…

How to Start a Fire FAST - takes 2-3 minutes and not a single match is required! You won't believe this!!

HomeRight’s latest toy, the Electro-Light Fire Starter. The Electro-Light makes it possible for you to light up your fire pit, charcoal grill or anything else you want to add a little heat to in 2-3 minutes flat. Without lighting a single match.

Now, before we go any farther. Let’s get a few things straight. I am not responsible if you catch yourself on fire or catch something else on fire that wasn’t supposed to be set on fire. Follow the instructions included with the tool and use caution and common sense, y’all. Do not get too close to fires. Do not let children be around fires without supervision. Make sure there isn’t anything around the fire that could easily catch on fire. Got it?

How to Start a Fire FAST - takes 2-3 minutes and not a single match is required! You won't believe this!!

All you do is plug it in (no lighter fluid or anything like that required) and push the red button. You will start to hear a sound that resembles a vacuum. The Electro-Light is actually blowing 1300°F air onto your wood or charcoal. After 2-3 minutes, you should have a good fire going. If the flames start to die out, just turn the Electro-Light back on and fan the flames.

We tested it out a few weeks back when the Circus insisted upon roasting marshmallows, but neglected to eat a single one of them that she roasted. #imaginethat

That picture was after we already had the fire going. I started taking a video after we had the Electro-Light going for about a minute before any of the fire had started. It’s really cool to see it light up.

Isn’t that awesome? P.S. Great fire starter helpers are evergreen branches from old Christmas trees and lint. 🙂

This bad boy will probably be making the rounds as a gift to quite a few of our fire pit loving friends and grill loving guys. You can find it on Amazon.

Are you a fire pit lover?

We have a wood burning stove in our house and I can’t start a fire–my husband has a whole set up he does to start the fires. It would be great to be able to start one with just pushing a button.

We use lighter wood to start our fires, when I lived in Florida we got it free, but now we order it and it’s not cheap. This handy tool wood save us a few bucks.
