Last week when I published the first Fancy That post, some of you guys couldn’t believe that Nordstrom had such great prices. Well, they do currently have their anniversary sale going on, but even when they don’t you can still find some really great prices on clothing. Personally, it’s one of my top three favorite stores. What I think is the best thing about Nordstrom though is that they offer free shipping and free returns – on everything. You can buy a $10 scarf and they’ll ship it free and if you don’t like it when it gets to you, you can return it for free. I really prefer to try on clothes in my own house, rather than in stores so this works great for me. I just feel less rushed and I can try on tops with different pants, dresses with different shoes, etc.
Anywho, the sale is going on for just a few more days and over the past week, I keep finding myself clicking over there to make sure I hadn’t missed anything.
And of course I had. 😉
I’ve found some great tops, sweaters, dresses and more for under $50 – and most of these are actually under $40 with some even under $20!
Budget Fashion Picks
Love this top – starts off simple, but finishes fun with the ruffle hem and bell sleeves. Comes in four different colors and is $40! Pair it with jeans for a more casual look or with dress pants for work!
Another fun shirt for less than $40 – yes, I am a sucker for ruffles sometimes! It also comes in three different colors and honestly, the red version is stealing my heart. Just like the top above and many of my other picks, you could pair this one with jeans or dress pants. It would even be really fun with shorts!
I love sweater weather. I think it’s often when I feel most comfortable. There’s just something about a good sweater. This scallop edge sweater is so adorable, comes in seven different colors and is less than $40. I love this pink version because I think it would look killer with black dress pants or faux black leather pants – ya know, a little bit sweet and a little bit fiesty. 😉
If you see me in the summer making a run to the hardware store, working outside or running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I’ll be in these shorts. I have a blue million of them in different colors and they are my favorite gym shorts by far. During the sale, they are $23!
Hello effortless outfit for the fall! How cozy does this sweatshirt dress look? Throw it on, add a pair of sneakers and instant cuteness! It’s on sale for $45 and comes in three different colors.
Yes, another ruffle hem! Unlike the one above that also has bell sleeves though, you could layer on a blazer with this one. And we all know how much I love blazers. 🙂 Comes in two different colors and is under $40.
Long Open Front Sweater Cardigan
I had kind of written off long cardigans – and then I saw this one. I love how it’s not too bulky like a lot of longer sweater cardigans are. It’s also great for layering in the fall and winter. This one also comes in really great colors that I hadn’t seen on sweater cardigans before. My personal favorites are those above, but it comes in two other colors as well and is less than $50.
Blue and Red Plaid Scarf / Multi-Colored Scarf
If you want new scarves for the winter, then grab them now! The blue and red plaid one is less than $12 and the multi-colored one is $19!
I love this shirt for a few reasons – that collar, those sleeves and it can be worn in the spring, summer and fall! Pair it with white jeans in the spring and summer or shorts in the summer and dark colored pants in the fall – I’m thinking a wine colored skinny jean. 🙂 And this shirt my friends, is less than $30!
Another work or play top! Not only is is playful, but it should be cozy too as it’s a fleece knit. It’s under $40 and comes in four different colors. The gray is more casual, but they also have it in black, pink and red which seem like dressier colors.
As of the writing of this post, mediums are the only sizes left in this jacket, but I had to go on and share it because it’s such a great versatile jacket for the fall. That color is going to go with just about any outfit and it’s on sale for $45.
This is the only thing here that’s a little more than $50, but I really wanted to let you know about it because it’s on sale for a great price. It’s usually $98, but is on sale for $65. Grunt Labor got me this moto jacket in a carmel color for Christmas last year and hands down, it’s one of my favorite jackets.

Great choices!!! One complaint about that adorable scallop edge sweater…why are the sleeves 3/4 length?? Might be fine down south, but when it’s cold enough for a sweater, I need long sleeves!! I’ll be honest, there were times in Hawaii in February that I needed long sleeves, so that may be part of my problem, but I really like to be warm!

Yea, I didn’t think about that, Susan. It would be good for me during the chillier fall months, but come winter I would want the longer sleeves too!
