“The Most Bizarre Things I Have Ever Seen”
The fact that I am even writing a post where the title contains the words candy, angels, tampons, and cavemen is just mind-blowing to me.
Saturday night after a long day of hitting up the 127 yard sale (the world’s longest yard sale), I’m sitting on my couch drinking a cheap beer, catching up on social media gossip, when a photo and text message from my cousin, Elle, comes through.
And I nearly spit out my beer.
This is the image of my cousin I saw on my phone screen:
The only response I could come up with to her was, “Wow. Wow.”
Seriously, who even thinks of making a swimsuit out of candy and who can even figure out how to make it?
Apparently, Elle can.
I know what you are thinking, because I was thinking the same thing.
Why the hell did you make a swimsuit out of candy? Were you really that bored?
Nope, she wasn’t. Turns out she, along with some of her friends, were participating in The Greatest International Scavenger Hunt The World Has Ever Seen (GISHWHES).
Your next thought, “What the heck is that?”
Same here, friends. So I asked her, “What the heck is that?”
I found out it is a week long event across the world that you pay an $18 fee to participate in. All the proceeds go towards the Random Acts Charity. Participants are given different items to complete (they can choose) and each item has a certain number of points it is worth. After the competition is over, judging commences and the winning team is given a trip to Croatia.
Pretty cool, eh?
So, how did she make a swimsuit with candy?
And it didn’t end with a swimsuit made of candy…..
No, I’m not kidding.
Not one single bit.
It takes a few months for the winners to be announced, but I’m pulling for this crew right here.
I mean really y’all, a candy swimsuit and an angel made of pads and tampons?
That is creativity at its finest.
You know you don’t wanna miss any of this crazy.
