Grandparents. Aunts. Uncles. Moms. Dads. These people often fall into that “people who already have everything” list, so what are gifts for someone who has everything? They can be so tough to buy for, right? This list of gift ideas for the person who has everything is sure to have something though, that they don’t already have.
Another year of holiday gift giving and another year of trying to figure out what in the heck to get those people on your list that have pretty much everything.
And if they don’t have something they need or want, then they tend to go out and buy it.
They are often called Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa.
We love ’em to death, but man can they be hard to buy for sometimes, right?
Well I’ve got ten different gift ideas for ya here today that will hopefully help you cross a few of those people off your list. From practical to thoughtful to just plain fun, there’s a little of all that and more in this list! Let’s get to it!
Some brands provided products and/or compensation for inclusion in this gift guide. However, all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. Affiliate links included in this post.
Gift Ideas for the Person Who Has Everything
Keep ’em toasty with a towel warmer.
My in-laws got one of these for Christmas one year and they love it! My husband even loved theirs so much that they got us one for Christmas last year and we love ours. We have the one pictured on the right above, but I also wanted to include the bucket type one as well because it has great reviews.
Give them a sweet trip down memory lane.
I think these candy time capsules from Dylan’s Candy Bar are just so clever. Each of the capsules has treats in it that are specific to that decade! I’m willing to bet some grandparents would love to break open one of these with their grandkids and take them on a trip through their childhood via the sugar highway! And myself personally, wouldn’t mind breaking open one of the 1980s capsules. 😉 They also have more decades than just the ones pictured above. See them all here.
Melt their heart with a custom pet portrait.
While most people have plenty of photos of their pets, most don’t have a gorgeous piece of art depicting their pet. Etsy has a slew of different options and price points you can choose from – you can get a custom pet painting, watercolor, drawing, and more. Some of my favorite ones I found there are the ones above. To have the portrait done, all you usually need is a photo you can send to the Etsy seller you choose. I’m willing to bet you can pull one of those from your gift recipient’s Facebook page. If you can’t though, I have complete faith in your stealthy undercover snap-a-photo moves.
You might think they have everything, but I bet they don’t have a pair of heated unicorn slippers. These slippers from Apollo Box are just too much fun! The Circus has actually picked these out for someone on our gift list – her GG (Great Grandma). She is always cold, so these should keep those feet warm, bring a smile to her face and make her think of the Circus when she has them on.
Who doesn’t need more wine?
If there is one thing I know my mother-in-law (who is one of those people who has everything) is never going to shake her head at, it’s more wine. We may or may not tend to polish off a bottle by ourselves every Wednesday night at dinner. While I love wine, I don’t know much about what pairs well with what and the best brands. I love this site for wine gifts!
Personalized Tervis Tumblers
Know what makes Tervis Tumblers even better? When they are personalized Tervis Tumblers with grandbaby’s photos. They are huge hits – trust me.
Make them smile with memories of a special home.
I will never not include a custom home portrait in my gift guides at least once or twice every holiday season. These babies are just too good not to mention. We’ve now given multiple people custom home portraits and they are always a hit and often bring a tear to an eye. Just like with the custom pet portraits, there are tons of different kinds to choose from on Etsy. Again, all you’ll need is a photo of the house you want the portrait for. While giving them a portrait of the house they are in is always a great idea, you can also think outside the box – like their childhood home, the first house they started their family in, their grandparent’s home, etc. This will be something they will treasure for a very long time.
The gadget they might just fall in love with.
Prior to getting an Echo, I didn’t think much of them. I thought they were just some little tech-y gadget and didn’t really know what all the fuss was about. Well, when we did get our Echo Dot, I fell hard and fast. This thing is just a little gem. You can ask it to look something up for you, add items to your grocery list which it can sync to your phone, tell it to play Eric Church, The Little Mermaid, or whatever your little heart desires and it will do it. It’s flat amazing. The only thing I do wish is that we would have went with the bigger Echo, rather than the Dot. That is just because I like to play my music loud though. Very loud. And it has a bigger speaker. 🙂
But do they have a Yeti Handle?
The person who has everything might have a Yeti, but do they have a handy little personalized handle for it? Not only do these look great, but they are functional too. Find it here.
The NIMBUS Pot
For the person who has a green thumb or a black thumb, the NIMBUS self-watering pot. Yes, it waters the plant by itself and even knows when it needs water or doesn’t!
Have they written their masterpiece yet?
Grab this life story book for parents and grandparents to document the special moments in their lives so they can pass them along to the generations that come after them. There’s also a place for them to share some words of wisdom, cause Lord knows we all need a little more of that.
