I think I forget how much I love fall and winter clothing until those seasons roll back around.
There’s nothing better than throwing on a cozy flannel shirt or a comfy but cute sweatshirt that keeps you toasty.
Also, it’s fantastic not having to shave your legs since the shorts and dresses of summer are gone.
Wait. Who am I kidding? I don’t even shave often enough in the summer.
Anywho, here are a few of my favorite fall outfits lately. The best thing about them though is that they are basically effortless. Most are just a simple shirt and pair of jeans or a sweater cardigan paired with a comfy t-shirt and jeans. Throw on some flats or simple boots of your choice and you’re a freakin rockstar in under five minutes.
Oh and all of these photos were taken right outside the farmhouse! You’ve seen what the inside is like, but not much of the outside, so you’ll get some peeks here!

Effortless Fall Outfits
The Best Flannel Shirt. Ever.
I picked up this shirt on my way to the register when the Circus found her cool rider jacket. It was so soft, that I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. In fact, I fell in love with it more when I got home and tried it on. Not only is super soft, warm and cozy, but it’s a boyfriend fit, so it’s more roomier and a little longer than other button ups. I’m so over all of these button up shirts that I can barely tuck in! And this flannel shirt is only $30!
Extra Long Open Front Garnet Sweater + Tee
Before this fall, it had been a long time since I’d had an open front sweater. The ones I used to have were really chunky and I just wasn’t a huge fan. This one though is lighter and obviously, not a chunky style. I love it’s deep garnet color – perfect for fall and winter!
To keep it simple, I just paired it with a soft gray t-shirt, my go-to jeans once more and my taupe ankle booties, which are rocking some dew from the grass in these photos. 🙂 Those boots are my go-to shoes for fall and winter when I need a little something more than just a basic flat or want a bit more of a heel. The taupe color goes with everything too.
Best Ever Fall Jacket + White Tee + Distressed Jeans
I cannot stress this enough. And if you follow me on Facebook and Instagram, you may know exactly what I’m about to say. If you buy only one piece of clothing this fall, make it this jacket. It is that good. I’ve had for a little over a month and have already worn it countless times. It’s comfortable. It goes with anything. It’s also cute. You can dress it up. You can dress it down. It’s also only $45. Need I say more? Find it here. I promise. You will not be disappointed.
I threw the jacket on with my favorite white t-shirt and distressed jeans in this outfit. I have that t-shirt in a few colors and love it because it’s so soft, but it’s also a little longer than usual tees, so you don’t see any skin when I bend over or lift my arms. I snatched those camel open toe boots up at the end of spring and fell in love with them even more this fall! They are such a versatile shoe that can work in the spring, summer and fall! They are also on sale for less than $40 right here!
Classic Button-Up + Garnet Jeans
This is such a simple outfit, but also one of my favorites. I think it’s the soft blue and the garnet jeans that makes it work so well. I actually wore this exact outfit for our family photos that we took last weekend. It’s one of those that’s casual, but still a little dressy. If you don’t have a classic blue button-up in your closet, I highly suggest getting this one. It goes with everything, is soft and like my other latest favorite button-up shirts, it’s not too fitted and it’s longer. It’s also only $25.
These garnet jeans are also quickly becoming another favorite. I love their deep color. I got them in the mid-rise and for me, it’s the perfect fit.
Super Long Open Front Fir Sweater + Pink Tee + Garnet Jeans
Another open front sweater! As soon as I saw this one in that gorgeous green hue, and that it was only $30, I had to snag it! Just like the other open front sweater, it’s lightweight, but soft and cozy. Pink and green is a favorite combo of mine (have you seen my bedroom?), so I paired this green sweater with a light pink tee. I dressed it up a little bit more with a long pendant necklace.
My garnet jeans also went perfectly with this ensemble and for a bit more personality, I added my leopard print boots in. These boots are everything, y’all. I’ve always said that no closet is complete without leopard flats and leopard heels. Well now I’m deeming it not complete without a pair of these leopard print boots too! These are only $35. Yes, I just said $35! And they are comfortable! I happened upon them completely by chance, but it was meant to be.
Black & White Zip Top + Garnet Jeans
This outfit is more of a dressier one for fall and would also be good for the office. I love this black and white zip-up top because it looks great by itself paired with a great pair of jeans or it also looks great paired with a blazer and dress pants. I have the same top in the vintage pink color too, which you might remember from some of my spring outfits. It’s just a great versatile top.
And once more – garnet jeans for the win here!
Best Ever Fall Jacket (Again!) + Gray Tee + Dusty Pink Jeans
See how amazing this jacket is?! Again?! Seriously, I just can’t get enough of it! Besides this green, it also comes in six other colors and it’s taking everything I have not to buy it in more colors!
Off the Shoulder Sweatshirt + Red Cowboy Boots
You know it wouldn’t be fall around here if I wasn’t wearing my red cowboy boots at least a few times a week, right? I wear these red boots any chance I get. Particularly, I love wearing them with unexpected pieces – like a cozy, but cute off the shoulder sweatshirt.
You can jazz it up a little more with a long statement necklace too if you want. 😉
