Last week, I was invited to attend the Nashville Antique and Garden Show with StyleBlueprint, followed by a champagne reception.
I pretty much felt like a rockstar.
And then I was like, oh lawd, they have no clue that they have invited the redneck country girl. They must have gotten the invitations mixed up.
I was on my best behavior.
I swear it.
Well, I tried anyway.
Myself, along with other bloggers in the Nashville area were able to interview panelists of the antique and garden show.
Y’all, they were the real deal.
They knew their stuff and I had no clue what to ask them without making myself look like a blubbering idiot.
Other people posed fabulous questions though.
I just nodded my head as if I knew exactly what they were talking about…
And I tried hard not to jump up and down when I actually did know what they were talking about.
Like when Michael Devine said, “Everyone should have a love affair with a city.”
I swear, it took everything in my power to not scream, “YES!”
I had just written those exact words in my post about New Orleans. His love affair probably didn’t include visiting a whorehouse, but ya know.
“Interiors should be an extension of you.” -Margot Shaw, Flower Magazine
Umm. YES. How many times have I said screw what the design books say! Decorate with what you love.
And my personal favorite…
“The answer is yes. Now what’s the question?” – Kreis Beall, Blackberry Farm
That one was like a what the hell just hit me? quote.
Kreis is the owner of Blackberry Farm, which I had no clue existed until last week.
I am hanging my head in shame.
Blackberry Farm is this luxury hotel and resort about three hours away from where I live.
How I didn’t know about it is beyond me, but I really really really want to go there now.
“The answer is yes. Now what’s the question?” is the motto Kreis practices at Blackberry Farm.
Personally, I think that’s a motto we could all practice in life a tad bit more.
Not necessarily when the door-to-door salesman comes to your house, but maybe when our friends could use a little help.
Maybe if we said “yes” a bit more, the world would be a kinder place.
And kinder places fuel love.
And more love in the world is always a good thing.
Don’t you think?
And on that note, let me introduce you to the new app that always answers yes when it comes to fantastic southern cities.
The new StyleBlueprint App.
You know when we visit those fun cities like Birmingham and Nashville and we can’t find those cute little local shops or dives that all the locals frequent?
This app is where its at.
Local Shops. Yes.
Local Restaurants. Yes.
Local Happenings. Yes.
You can look for places close to you or find places in a certain neighborhood.
Right now, the app covers Nashville, Birmingham, and Memphis, but more cities are on the horizon.
Grunt and I will absolutely be using this app on our next excursion in Nashville.
He has no idea what’s in store for him. 🙂
You know you don’t wanna miss any of this crazy.
